Wild Foods
Foraging
Humans have lived thousands of years by hunting and collecting wild food. There are plenty of edible plant species, nuts, mushrooms and fruits. Of course you can eat whatever you planted in your garden, but outside the boundaries of your property we don’t recommend you collect wild foods without expert knowledge, since our environment is fragile and you don’t want to risk harming it. We make one exception though for exotic and invasive species. Here are examples of greens we encourage you to pick. In fact, take as much as you can and share with your friends and neighbors! For recipes and the best way to harvest these species, simply browse on the internet. To learn more about food foraging visit Steve Brill’s terrific website: https://www.wildmanstevebrill.com/
